Beyond the fact that we are social creatures and we like companionship etc., do we really feel lost until we rest in the arms of a lover? Simply evolutionary drive? Religiously motivated? I think it is curious that there is this almost universal anxiety to find love, to find a guiding constant in the form of another non-familial human being. Logically, it seems unnecessary (Family/friend love doesn’t suffice? We can’t be fully independent? We can’t derive happiness elsewhere?), but most songs, quotes, pictures on tumblr focus on romantic love. People just love being loved and giving love. Why?
